Jacobs Prairie, Minnesota

Jacob’s Prairie was established in 1854 by pioneers Nicholas Jacoby and Jacob Kray, the settlement’s namesake. As one of Stearns County’s earliest German Catholic colonies, it flourished following the missionary efforts of Father Francis Pierz. Centered around the historic St. James Parish, the community remains a foundational piece of the region’s agricultural and religious heritage.
